Its how we roll...We party like its 1999, drinking rockstars & orange juice, making the most delicious pizza on a homemade crust.

When you're this cute... you deserve a cute name.  I can only imagine what its like to pick your child's name...let alone a name for a dog. Decisions decisions!

Darkroom... Back In Action

The darkroom days were always interesting and maybe a bit boring at the same time.  I've spent numerous hours rocking trays I'm sure... and perhaps that's the boring part. But the interesting part is seeing negatives come to life.  I think the last time I printed in my darkroom was in 2005 and knowing me... I hardly get rid of anything... so I decided it was time to bring everything out again.  Perhaps I get a bit overwhelmed keeping up with the latest and greatest of computers and photoshop versions... sometimes its nice to go back to old-school for fun.

It was awesome reminiscing through my collection of stuff and some film prints as well... I have quite the collection. Its always good to look back at your "work" from the beginning... It makes me smile.

Project 365> Day Three Hundred & Sixty-Five

For the last 365 days... I have shot & posted an image every single day.

I took images that described my day, what I saw, where I went, the things I witnessed, the things that challenged me, the simple things, the things I forgot about, the average things, the most beautiful things and all things inspirational to me.  The last 365 days have taken me on a journey I never imagined possible.  Have you ever uttered these words in your head?... "Just take one day at a time" ?? Well I did take one day at a time, I documented it and let me tell you...it went by in a flash (no pun intended).  Certain days were easy to post because my life is always filled with photogenic people, places and things.  Other days (mainly evenings at 11:45 pm) were filled with "Oh jeez I need to post something FAST before midnight!"

Many photographers start a project like this for reasons of their own.  I started this with the hopes of challenging myself in any way possible. I wanted to keep my creative skills busy and I've now realized how much more it has done for me.  I appreciate the little things in life and I never want to leave the house without a camera.  It also made me realize how much more I have to learn on this journey as an artist/picture taker. Forever learning and growing your dreams is not a bad thing by any means.

Looking back is the rewarding part about this project. That's the part I didn't expect.  So in a nutshell, I'm really happy I could do this for myself. I'm really happy if you have enjoyed checking this blog everyday, or every other day... or once a month. So thank you... I appreciate you.

Today might be the last day of this project... but its only the beginning of the year and I will always no matter what be taking pictures for you and for me.  Rome wasn't built in 365 days after all. I think it took 500 years?

Well... today I took an appropriate drive around little old Saskatoon... searching for something pretty & mysterious.  I think I found it. What do you think?

...Last but not least... Thanks to my Shawn for always making sure I did my blog post. I love you.

Project 365> Day Three Hundred & Sixty-Four

I played around a little bit today with double exposure.  It was super fun.  I used to do stuff like this all the time in the darkroom. Speaking of which... I'm waiting for one darkroom red light to arrive and I'll be a darkroom junkie again. I'm excited to get back in there after all these years.

So here you go: A picture of me as a child... and a vintage camera. How fitting!  No photoshop required for this image today...  Just strictly double exposure mode on my camera. Took a few tries to get it to my liking.

Do my eyes deceive me? Day 364?  Looks like I have one day left with this little project.  Any requests with what you'd like to see tomorrow?!?  Maybe it will be just another random day... lets hope something photogenic arises!

Project 365> Day Three Hundred & Sixty-Three

I crave the sight and smell of flowers during the winter months.

You can find them at The Mendle if you need a little flower therapy this time of year.

Table For Four... Plus a High-Chair!

This little baby boy.... he is loved.

Super happy to have met these faces over the holidays. :-)

Project 365> Day Three Hundred & Sixty-Two

Soup warms your insides like nothing else.

I love making my own soup creations from scratch... but I still see nothing wrong with soup from a can.  In fact, today I enjoyed Lentil & Smokey Bacon Soup.... from a can.  It was quick, nutritious, superb and quite photogenic.

Project 365> Day Three Hundred & Sixty-One

This picture was inspired by my Kristen who loves to take pictures of people's eye balls with her camera phone. I thought it was such a neat idea to try... and its amazing the things you can try and capture right in the eye.

So if you've ever wanted to look into my eyeball...oddly enough this is your lucky day.  A little tricky to achieve by myself... but I managed to get the right focus after about 20 odd shots.  I liked this one the best.  I softened my fine lines... Hope you don't mind.  Its my way of giving myself Botox without actually having to do so. lol

Project 365> Day Three Hundred & Fifty-Eight

Super excited about my new cowgirl boots that I received as a Christmas gift from Shawn. Looks like I have no excuse to start riding again.... or no excuse to start lookin' good.

These boots were made for walkin'!
