Now I try not to use much flash, as I love working with natural light.... but for those dark reception halls, I picked up this fun little..but rather large flash tool.  I get way more pleasure out of something camera related vs getting my nails done. lol  I don't smoke, so I justify buying tools that help my profession. ;-)

Softboxes make the photo world a better place. ;-)

Project 365> Day One Hundred & Forty

My Shawn last year was gracious enough to plant these amazing sunflowers that grew over 8 feet tall... and the least I could do was keep them alive by printing a big-ass canvas of them. lol

It hangs perfectly in the bedroom... but now Im thinking the walls need to be painted in order for it to "pop" on the wall.  Never fails hey...  You make a slight change in your living space and then you feel the need to pick up paint swatches. ;-)

Nonetheless... its up and we love looking at it.  ;-)

Never Ashamed

Being ashamed of certain things can disrupt your reputation of being cool & carefree. ;-)

I can admit that I'm totally not ashamed that I enjoy McDonald's here and there.  Not every week, not every day..... but a girl should be able to love some chicken nuggets when she wants them (and their coffee is good too) lol ;-)

May I never be ashamed of....
*squeezing the toothpaste
*Using a digital alarm clock
*Cutting my hair product bottles open to get the very last bit
*Sleeping in
*Having more than one bath/shower a day lol
*Consuming dairy
*Not washing my hair every single day
*Wrinkles
*Having me time
*Forgetting to send out birthday cards
*Putting extra holes in the wall when hanging pictures lol
*Buying cheap shoes
*Waiting for things to go on sale
*Midnight bowls of cereal
*Taking coffee breaks
*Having an actual written day planner
*Using extreme amounts of post-it notes
*Never using coupons
*Confessing funny moments

I don't always agree with how the world runs... but may I never be ashamed of the things that make me... Me.

Optika

I hadn't been before to Optika Eyeware (just off broadway).... but when entering the doors, I was greeted by a dog named Furnace. (yup...like as in the thing that heats your home) lol To funny. He was adorably photogenic for this shoot. ;-)

Its a good thing I have to wear glasses now. I get an excuse to shop here... and the selection is SO awesome. :-)

When I see that Saskatoon makes the effort to make something old ...look new again.... it gives me hope that we'll keep growing as a cool little city.  I've often visited big cities like Calgary and marvelled at the big buildings and hoped that Saskatoon would be the same.  ;-)

We're not the same as these big cities.... but we're growing thats for sure.  I still almost like that nothing is over 24 storeys.  There is no straining the neck when looking up... thats for sure.  ;-)

Gardening pretty much can't and shouldn't be done without rubber boots.  This I know because I tried to garden in my bare feet, which at the time...seemed... like a good idea.  Actually it was a liberating idea...lol

Nonetheless... rubber boots are still a better idea. ;-)

New Parents To Beeeeeee

I loved shooting their engagement photos, wedding photos.... oh and now I'm able to witness the next chapter.  I love my job, I really do.
;-)

As much as I can, I like to beeeeee the photographer that make my subjects smile or laugh in their own way for the camera.  It happens to beeeeeeee all smiles for this session. After all... a new addition is on the way and its a truly exciting time for this couple. We're all buzzing with excitement. ;-) lol Sorry I couldn't resist...They happen to own a family run business called Sun River Honey.

Honey farmers.... and soon to beeeeeee parents. ;-)

Afternoon Visits With Dear Jeanie

Little visits with my cape town friend Jeanie and "the kitten".... 

The coffee is always on, gourmet impromptu snacks & smoothies provided and last minute trips to Walmart for big barrel curling irons & floppy beach hats.

Something I very rarely tackle is nature photography.  You need the proper attire and huge amount of patience... and like I mean a tonne of patience because I'm pretty patient as it is.  Nonetheless... I did get in touch with nature and hung out with the Pelicans at the weir.  Its hard to just post one this time... so enjoy!
