Project 365> Day Three Hundred & Twenty-Two

Some days you photograph something scenic, food related.... some days it might something out of the ordinary.  I like out of the ordinary.

Project 365> Day Three Hundred & Twenty-One

Not much commentary today.... just a little bit of "naked tree art" for ya.  It's gettin' cold out... Stay warm friends.

Project 365> Day Three Hundred & Twenty

Mr. Ben is getting used to the camera.

I love his nose... his horsey lips.... his beauty mark inside his left nostril.  He's such a fuzzy lovely boy.

Project 365> Day Three Hundred & Nineteen

Okay so... the day got away on me. Which now leaves for a mildly boring 365 post about a cinnamon bun about to be devoured.  I thought the least I could do creatively is find a backdrop that made the cinnamon bun somewhat camouflaged. Viola! Presenting my interpretation of the camouflaged cinnamon bun.

Here's the technical for all you camera folk.  50mm, ISO 1600 125@F2.8.  I used a simple light source from above. That's it, that's all.

Time for dessert. :-)

Table For Three

Super happy to meet these smiling faces.

WHAT a little doll their baby girl is....  She is perfect.

Siblings

Kids are just.... well cute for starters... and they are little photocopies of their mommies & daddies.

I love photographing their little budding personalities.... the little quirks, smiles... and giggles.

Project 365> Day Three Hundred & Eighteen

Mom, you always do such a nice tree. Hats off to you... I love the gold this year.

December... lone behold.... is creeping up fast. Very fast.   The malls are already bustling with shoppers. Boney M is already playing on the radio. The stores are already stocking extra crisco & sugar. My pants feel tighter already. Already TV commercials are showing off gift ideas. The Sears Wish Book was out weeks ago already!  I've already started to think I should be making cabbage rolls & tarts for the freezer.

It may be November still... but Christmas is already in the air.

Project 365> Day Three Hundred & Seventeen

Call me hilarious I don't know... but give me the gift of food... in particular, give me homemade snack mix and I'm one happy camper.  Little unexpected gifts make me really thankful. Its the gesture and it brightens my day like nobody's business.

The perfect combo of pretzels, peanuts, shreddies and cheerios.  I'm inspired to make snack mix this year for Christmas.  You name it...its turning into a snack mix. Fill the tins, alert the media....  Its all about snack mix for the holidays.

Thanks to the wonderful "family of three" who came for pictures today. You know who you are and thanks so much for the homemade snack mix. I wasn't kidding when I said it would become a blog post.  :-)

Project 365 > Day Three Hundred & Sixteen

Digital cameras changed me as a photographer.

In my own opinion I did change for the better and as they say... "change is good." .... They also say  "don't forget where you came from".... and that I haven't.

My first camera was a medium format 501C Hasselblad.  The Rolls Royce of cameras.  The sound of it, the feel of it... and looking through a mirror image viewfinder.... All these things made me the true photographer I am today.

Project 365> Day Three Hundred & Fifteen

Every... single... day... for the last 315 days I've wondered what will I photograph?.... What will I find? What should I shoot? What will I see thats interesting? What will inspired me today?  The best thing I can do is to not over think, not overlook the obvious and just shoot whats feels natural to me.

There is so much you can find right in your backyard, right down the street.... everywhere really.

The snow today settled wherever its heart desired.  Picture perfect.

Table For Eight

The whole gang together... including a sweet little bundle of joy in red.  She is a doll and she is loved!

Table For Four

It's great to be back in the studio.... and of course shooting in the snow.  So glad to see these faces again.

Project 365> Day Three Hundred & Fourteen

I consider myself a yogurt connoisseur... I love it for many reasons.  I don't love that most yogurt makes you chubby if you eat to much of it.  lol

I was happy to find a Greek Style Yogurt by PC brand with a lemon bottom (ZERO fat, 160 calories for 3/4 cup, 14 g of protein and 1 g of fibre)  The taste is comparable to Liberty Yogurt's lemon flavor. .... and if you know yogurt, you already know Liberty is amazing.  I blogged about it back in 2010... you can see that post HERE

Viola... Lemon greek yogurt with raspberries. Low fat delicious snack.

Project 365> Day Three Hundred & Thirteen

I spent the better part of the afternoon (although its not over yet)... editing my little heart off.  Tucked away at my desk, heater on full tilt... tunes rolling through the air.  After awhile, my eyes tend to need a break more than anything.

Coffee, the newest Martha Stewart Magazine.... equals best coffee break ever.  Yup, word is out...even I take coffee breaks at the office.

Life is sweet.... the magazine says so.

Project 365> Day Three Hundred & Twelve

I'd love to share this book with you called...
"Backwards In High Heels... The Impossible Art of Being Female"

It shares all sorts of things about love, food, career, health, motherhood, shopping, fashion, age, beauty, self-esteem, and politics.  I more so love the title.

Project 365> Day Three Hundred & Eleven

What did we do before name display, before texting, before cell phones, cordless phones, internet, call-waiting, websites, blogs, ipads, ipods and i-yadda. What did we do before email?!?!  It all baffles me because if you think about going back to what we did before... It almost seems unorthodox.  I guess I still consider myself old school because I grew up with no internet, VHS tapes, a darkroom vs a computer and I didn't actually get an email address till I was 21-ish.  When I researched for a project, I went to an encyclopaedia set, not to google.  Don't even get me started on Facebook. lol

It seems impossible these days to just sit and enjoy the ambiance. Most people need to hold something... like a device of some sort. We need constant communication. We need to send messages without having to talk to people.  We need blogs (such as this one).  What did we do before that? Did we talk to people? Did we listen to our own thoughts more? Did we write with an actual pen? You should take note of how many people have their hands wrapped around a cellphone. The whole reason for a cell phone 15 years ago was for emergency use. Now my cell phone is a constant communication device. A way to email, text, receive calls 24 hours a day...7 days a week, 365 a year. Its exhausting. (wink)  In no way am I saying I /we should give up on technology. No matter how much we advance, I think its important to not abandon books, don't forget to send a letter in the mail, live life dangerously by leaving your cell phone at home when you're out with loved ones.

There is nothing in our material world more beautiful than freedom from our sins.

Feeling the pressure... so we might as well listen to Queen.  Happy Friday!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Project 365> Day Three Hundred & Six

Wondering if I deserve a medal for carrying around my D700 for the last 306 days.  My shoulders are killing me.

Today we shopped. Thank goodness I have a loved one who doesn't mind having his picture taken and doesn't mind taking my picture in return. :-)

And just because I love him so much, he gets to be part of the 365 twice in one month. hehe
