Katy Perry - Firework

These lyrics hit me and not with a thick fist.  So whoever wrote this song rocks and Katy hit the notes like a pro. I found this video very inspirational and if you have a down day (which we all do)....
Watch it.  Love it. Sing along with the words.  Embrace your firework.

Do you ever feel like a plastic bag
Drifting through the wind
Wanting to start again
Do you ever feel, feel so paper thin

Like a house of cards
One blow from caving in
Do you ever feel already buried deep
Six feet under scream
But no one seems to hear a thing
Do you know that there's still a chance for you
Cause there's a spark in you
You just gotta ignite the light
And let it shine
Just own the night
Like the Fourth of July
Cause baby you're a firework
Come on show 'em what your worth
Make 'em go "Oh, oh, oh!"
As you shoot across the sky-y-y
Baby you're a firework
Come on let your colors burst
Make 'em go "Oh, oh, oh!"
You're gunna leave 'em fallin' down-own-own
You don't have to feel like a waste of space
You're original, cannot be replaced
If you only knew what the future holds
After a hurricane comes a rainbow
Maybe you're reason why all the doors are closed
So you can open one that leads you to the perfect road
Like a lightning bolt, your heart will blow
And when it's time, you'll know

She Studies

Watching kids learn is inspiring.

New Framing Ideas

I've got LOTS of ideas for framing.
...Well... I've got lots of ideas period...but to make things happen I think of these few words. "Baby Steps"

I made a pledge to myself:  It's time to make your photos into art.  Get'em on the wall.  This year, I'm all about framing with zero glass. (Talk to me if you're interested) I've also picked a few select frames for the 2011 year.  This one below is my favorite (and most expensive... of course!) I have good taste.  ;-) ...but really, when you compare it to something cheaper, the difference really isn't that much.

I'm on the hunt for unique albums as well.  In a way, I'm a bit of a traditionalist.  I'll admit I used to love getting my film developed and having 4 X 6 copies done for albums.  It was a perfect world in the film days.  Digital just made it interesting.  ;-)

40th Birthday

When you hit a milestone...such as your 40th birthday, I can only imagine as you sit and watch the candles sparkle, your children around you,... there has to be a sense of accomplishment....joy....happiness.  That's a gift in itself.
Happy Birthday brother from another mother... aka Rob!

Oh Emerson.... You tell'em!

Cookies

Cookies always tell the truth. Don't they?
I would say so.
When I cracked this fortune cookie open, I was delighted at its words and it made my night complete.

Even if this isn't your fortune cookie, I thought I would share it with you.  As the Christmas month is upon us... make the people that are important to you, your highest priority.  They are the ones that will love you no matter what and give you a hug when you need it.  :-)

College Of Nursing > Ellis Hall

Very inspiring seeing desks that have held many generations of nursing students.

One Month Till Christmas

Me likes Starbucks.  More importantly, I'm loving the Christmas spirit of Starbucks cups.

Little Girls Are Precious

... This saying holds true.  Girls are just precious.
Well all kids are precious... but little girls are just so darn precious.  You can tell her parents just adore her.  Although, thanks to MOvember..... family photos will be put on hold till further notice.  ;-)

Family Of Three

I knew as soon as this little guy walked in.... awwwwh... instant connection!  I love when kids aren't afraid of the camera.... and more importantly, aren't afraid of me!
 ;-)
Can I ask this?  Why is it boys always have the great eye lashes?!?!

Table For Five!

These kids are super cute. They seem to all have different personalities (like most siblings)... but still cute as buttons.  I thought last years "green" theme was pretty nice.  This year, Im lovin' the red.  Thanks to a great mom who has AWEsome taste in kids clothing.

One Year

I'll say it once and I'll say it again!  This little girl has the deepest chocolate brown eyes you ever did see.

Sorry... No Photos Today

Today made me realize how life is precious.

....And although I don't have any images to back up today's post... there are a few moments from today that will remain in my brain for awhile.

I'm not sure why I'm always placed in these situations.   I'm not sure why I'm the chosen one to witness tragic events.  I know its not because I'm a photographer. ... or maybe it is.  ;-)  But in all honesty, when I'm placed in a "what do you do" situation,  finding my camera is the least of my worries.  Maybe I should have been an EMT.  lol

Today I happened to be first on the scene of a car accident.   I've never been faced with that situation before.

Do you stop?!?!?...
Yes.
At which point do you reach for your phone to call 911...Or do you race to the car that was just struck by semi? Well I raced to the car yes.... and in those moments leading up to that moment, you're not sure what you're going to do or see.

Thankfully, she was alive (thanks to airbags).... and yes I did phone for help.  If I could only hear the tape of my frantic 911 phone call.  You can tell I don't phone 911 everyday.  ;-)

Basketball

After having a free Saturday, I was soooo happy to watch basketball from the stands.

Basketball

Watching someone you know play sports is always more enjoyable.  For the 1st time, I made it to my niece's basketball game.  She's sooooo good!

Prom Theme

Going to a birthday party is fabulous enough.  A "prom theme" made it fabulous X a million.  She's 10...going on 16 (and we're never letting her leave the house) wink wink.

Girls Night

Sometimes you just gotta make time with the girls.  Actually it seems when I see these faces, they are always in front of my camera.  ;-)   (That's a good thing!)
We indulged in decadent desserts ... and piles of coffee.  Or at least I managed to down 6 cups of coffee and 18 mini creamers.
We laughed. LOTS.
We shared stories.
Everyone was gracious to let me snap a few photos.
AAAha!  Girls, you not only get to check up on my blog... you get to BE on my blog.  ;-)

Newborn Boy

Awwwwwh.  I love when babies sleep (and I'm sure mom loves that idea as well!)
This little guy gave us a mix of expressions.
Mr. Sleepy, Content, Happy & Serious.
Personally, I love Mr. Serious.
